A day spent on the Île de Ré, visiting the big lighthouse at the western end of the island and some beaches in the middle.

A day spent in La Rochelle town, wandering around the Two Towers and generally mooching about whilst waiting for the sun to come out.

A visit to Brussels in the winter. I’d forgotten how good a city Brussels is. It has lots of entertainment packed into a small space.

Our final full day in La Rochelle and we decided to head back over the bridge to spend the afternoon in Saint-Martin-de-Ré.

The sixth and final stopover on our tour of mainland Greece was in Nafplio, a seaside resort quite close to lots of antiquity.
