On the Run

Running is Kas’ great passion, and to some extent it’s a passion of Kev’s too. And the girls dabble in it a bit every now and then. Going on the run keeps us off the streets, although technically, I suppose it keeps us on the streets. Running provides multiple benefits to both physical and mental health, as well as providing the opportunity to spend ridiculous amounts of money on shoes.
Here are a few of the events we’ve visited recently.
We run, not because we think it is doing us good, but because we enjoy it and cannot help ourselves…The more restricted our society and work become, the more necessary it will be to find some outlet for this craving for freedom. No one can say, ‘You must not run faster than this, or jump higher than that.’ The human spirit is indomitable.

Marathon Weekend

Marathon Weekend

A while ago the good lady wife won a place in the Virgin London Marathon for 2014. She failed in the annual ballot but then entered a competition on a bottle of Lucozade Sport and won it.

Sheffield Half 2014 (or not)

Sheffield Half 2014 (or not)

On Sunday April 6th 2014 I ran the 33rd annual Sheffield Half Marathon. It turned out to be one of the weirdest days of my life, apparently.

Reading Half 2014

Reading Half 2014

Kas’s free entry into the London Marathon that she won came with side entry into a couple of “training” half marathons. This was one of them.

Brighton Half 2014

Brighton Half 2014

The long awaited trip to Brighton for Kas to do the Brighton Half Marathon.

Kenilworth Half 2013

Kenilworth Half 2013

We had a quick dash up to Kenilworth so that Kas could run the half marathon there. I toyed with the idea of running too but then Kas told me there’s no medal. No medal ? No run.

Bedford Parkrun

Bedford Parkrun

A happy combination of circumstances for us today – a long run, a parkrun, and a couple of caches.

MK Spring Half 2013

MK Spring Half 2013

MK Half day, and once again it’s freezing. Same as last year only without the rain.
