Life in a nutshell, 'cos it's better if you're nuts!
This website is being gradually wound down. You can find the blog posts about geocaching gradually reappearing at mkgees.uk
Honister
A trip to the slate mine at Honister. Well, not to the slate mine itself, but to the outdoor activity centre.
Bassenthwaite
A trip to the far end of Bassenthwaite Lake to visit the Lakes Distillery, and to meet some alpacas, amongst other things.
Borrowdale
A wander through Borrowdale, supposedly the wettest place in England. We were planning to sit in a river, so “wet” was on the cards whatever.
Grizedale
A visit to the Go Ape centre in Grizedale for a bit of tree-based action. We all had a go, but some had more of a go than others.
Grasmere
Our first day in Grasmere, including splitting up and meeting together, with some hill walking, some history, some geology and some religion.
Heading Up
The last time we took a “proper” family holiday was 2019. So today we were heading up to the Lake District with much excitement.
Lincolnshire Mega
My visit to the Lincolnshire Mega geocaching event, with accompanying stay with my brother in my old hometown of Southwell.
Rushmere
Caching around Rushmere Country Park and the Grand Union Canal with HellieMW, followed by a trip into Leighton Buzzard.
Geohound
Wandering around a massive lake whilst geocaching and providing dinner for the insects.
D’oh
Caching around Cambridgeshire with one man and his dog, drawing a picture of a famous cartoon character. If that’s not a bit obscure, I don’t know what is.
Interactive Cache Maps
Since Christmas I have been trying to gradually improve this website. One solution I was searching for was a way of displaying an interactive cache maps of my finds on a particular day. I found a solution, and I think it’s good enough to write about. Why not?
20 Questions
A certain local geocaching blogger asked me if I’d like to answer a short quiz about geocaching.
